This is a short list of our most frequently asked questions.
Who provides the prediction and stop information data?
The next prediction and other data are provided by the following sources:
WMATA API: https://developer.wmata.com/license
NextBus Feed: https://www.nextbus.com/xmlFeedDocs/NextBusXMLFeed.pdf
Capital Bikeshare: http://developer.motivateco.com/
Why are predictions not always accurate?
The data is provided by the transportation agencies and providers, like WMATA, Capital Bikeshare, and others. We display the information they provide and we have no control on the accuracy of this data.
Is DC Mass Transit affiliated with any DC public transit agency or public transit organizations?
No, we are not. We created this app to help you increase your use of DC’s mass transit system by providing you with relevant and up-to-date information about the system.
Can I use the app without enabling location services?
The application will not function properly without enabling location services. Your location is needed to find out what stops and stations are near you when you run the application. Only the WMATA bus and rail alerts view will work without enabling location services.
Where are the route maps?
You have to select a bus route or rail line to see its route map and information. This can be accomplished by clicking on the route/line name either on the prediction callout on the nearby map view or on the nearby list view.
How can I let you know about errors in the app?
If you find any issues or errors when using the application or the data is incorrect, please let use know at support [at] dcmasstransit.com.
If the error is ours, we will try to fix it for a future update. If there is a data error, we will try to notify the agency that provided the data.
